Job Summary:

CB Canada is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their team on a short-term contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders/vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
  • Patch up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
  • Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
  • General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
  • Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing
  • Contribute to Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
  • Post financial figures to journals and ledgers

Requirements:

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
  • Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Excellent data entry skills
