Restaurant Manager Job Description

At ONTARIO INC., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our dining establishment, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our staff is well-trained and motivated.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Staff: Lead and manage a team of 5-10 staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are meeting their job responsibilities.
  • Train Staff: Develop and implement training programs to ensure that staff members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service.
  • Determine Services and Implement Operational Procedures: Work with the management team to determine the types of services to be offered and implement operational procedures to ensure that they are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Balance Cash and Complete Reports: Manage the cash handling process, balancing cash and completing reports to ensure that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Cost Products and Services: Analyze and manage the costs of products and services, ensuring that they are within budget and that the dining establishment is operating efficiently.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Oversee the inventory management process, ensuring that all products are stocked and that the dining establishment is well-stocked at all times.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Negotiate with Suppliers: Negotiate with suppliers to ensure that the dining establishment is receiving the best possible prices for products and services.
  • Address Customer Complaints: Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage Events: Plan and manage events, including weddings, parties, and other special occasions.
  • Plan, Organize, Direct, Control, and Evaluate Daily Operations: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations of the dining establishment, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Word.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, and overtime required.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, organized, reliability, and ability to multitask.
