Cardiac Sonographer Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for utilizing advanced ultrasound technology to evaluate cardiac anatomy, function, and hemodynamics. You will work closely with cardiologists to obtain diagnostic recordings of cardiac ultrasound images and doppler hemodynamic data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sonography, with experience in echocardiography and a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology. You will be required to maintain accurate patient files, record timely information in the computer, and practice good patient care at all times.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who is a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, with Sonography Canada certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure. You will also require current BLS certification and a minimum of one year clinical experience. Experience in a tertiary care setting and with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and IntelliSpace Workstations is an asset.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour biweekly schedule. You will be required to work on-call in a rotation for after-hours and weekend coverage, and travel to various sites will be necessary. The hourly rate for this position is $39.96, with a market adjustment of approximately $369.23 biweekly. You may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
