Cardiac Sonographer Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a critical role in the evaluation of cardiac anatomy, function, and hemodynamics using highly sophisticated ultrasound technology.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostic medical ultrasound and experience in echocardiography. You will be responsible for obtaining diagnostic recordings of cardiac ultrasound images and doppler hemodynamic data, evaluating and recording pathological findings, and preparing a summary of the findings for review by the Echocardiologist.
As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will work closely with the Echocardiologist to discuss exams, maintain accurate patient files, and record timely information in the computer. You will also be responsible for maintaining a professional attitude and practicing good patient care at all times.
We are looking for a candidate with specialized sonography skills, clinical knowledge, and experience in providing advanced practice service to the adult congenital population, tertiary and surgical programs, research programs, and clinical training for residents and student sonographers.
About YouWe are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
- Sonography Canada certification
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred
- Experience in a tertiary care setting an asset
- Experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo preferred
- Experience with Philips Epiq and IntelliSpace Workstations an asset
- Experience with General Electric Vivid E95 an asset
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
We are offering a permanent full-time position with a 75-hour biweekly schedule. On-call duties will be required in a rotation for after-hours and weekend coverage. Travel to various sites will be required.
Compensation and BenefitsWe offer a competitive hourly rate of $39.96, with the possibility of a Market Adjustment. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
