About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist - Microscopy and Flow Cytometry Specialist to join our team at KNG Technical Inc. as a key member of our research and development team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize Diagnostic Technologies: Collaborate with our development team to optimize new technologies for our diagnostic product, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality results.
  • Experimental Design and Execution: Design, execute, and meticulously document experiments to drive research and development forward, with a focus on flow cytometry and microscopy.
  • Data Analysis and Communication: Quantitatively analyze flow cytometry and microscopy data, communicating results effectively to fellow scientists and non-science team members to inform decision-making.
  • Clinical Sample Analysis: Analyze clinical samples for assay validation, ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Resource Utilization: Tap into various resources to support experimental design, including literature reviews, expert consultations, and industry best practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the development team to develop and achieve goals, meeting ambitious timelines and driving business growth.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Construct, modify, and follow standard operating procedures in direct collaboration with the development team, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality results.
  • Method Transfer and Collaboration: Transfer methods to other internal or external partners, supporting collaborations through defensible result production and QC procedures.
  • Task Management: Manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Communication and Mentorship: Communicate effectively to peers and leadership, supporting decision-making through written protocols and summarized results in reports or presentations. Mentor and help colleagues grow and develop skills, driving team success and growth.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Ph.D. with a minimum of 1 year of industry experience or a postdoctoral fellowship or M.Sc. with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in biochemistry, biology, immunology, hematology, or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Competency in cell-based assays such as flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and biochemical assays. Experience with design and execution of experiments in a wet lab, with a focus on flow cytometry and microscopy.
  • Soft Skills: High level of organizational and time management skills, with the ability to communicate results and concepts clearly to team members. Experience maintaining a research laboratory, with a focus on laboratory automation and liquid handling.
  • Additional Requirements: Familiarity with Python or other programming languages, image processing software, and the medical device industry and associated regulatory pathways. Experience with FlowJo, FACS Diva, or other flow cytometry analysis platforms, laboratory automation/liquid handling, and assay development with clinical samples. Prior experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
