Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimize New Technologies: Collaborate with our development team to optimize new technologies for our diagnostic product, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Design and Execute Experiments: Design, execute, and meticulously document experiments to validate the performance of our diagnostic products.
  • Quantitative Analysis and Communication: Quantitatively analyze flow cytometry and microscopy data and communicate results to fellow scientists and non-science members of the team, ensuring seamless collaboration and decision-making.
  • Clinical Sample Analysis: Analyze clinical samples for assay validation, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our diagnostic products.
  • Resource Utilization: Tap into various resources to support experimental design, including literature reviews, expert consultations, and internal knowledge sharing.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the team to develop and achieve goals, ensuring timely completion of projects and delivery of high-quality results.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Construct, modify, and follow standard operating procedures in direct collaboration with the development team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Method Transfer and Collaboration: Transfer methods to other internal or external partners and support collaborations through defensible result production and QC procedures.
  • Task Management: Manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Communication and Mentorship: Communicate effectively to peers and leadership to support decision-making, including writing protocols and summarizing results in a report or presentation, and mentor and help colleagues grow and develop skills.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Ph.D. with a minimum of 1 year of industry experience or a postdoctoral fellowship or M.Sc. with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in biochemistry, biology, immunology, hematology, or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Competency in cell-based assays such as flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and biochemical assays, experience with design and execution of experiments in a wet lab, and high level of organizational and time management skills.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate results and concepts clearly to team members, experience maintaining a research laboratory, and research laboratory experience in relevant fields.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to multi-task, rapidly learn new techniques, and adapt to frequently changing job functions, familiarity with Python or other programming languages, and familiarity with image processing software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the medical device industry and associated regulatory pathways, experience with FlowJo, FACS Diva, or other flow cytometry analysis platforms, and experience working with laboratory automation/liquid handling (i.e., TECAN).
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Ability to write and maintain standard operating procedures, assay development experience with clinical samples, and prior experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
