Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide range of standardized and complex sonography services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.
  • Prepare accurate reports for physician interpretation.
  • Assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention, and patient management.
  • Participate in the education of new staff, students, and residents.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and research endeavors within the department.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Diagnostic Ultrasound.
  • Eligible for registration with Sonography Canada CRGS (Canadian Registered General Sonographer) credential.
  • Certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with specialties in Obstetrical/Gynecological and Abdominal Sonography.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • High degree of technical expertise and thorough knowledge of all specialized areas in diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize workload.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods without resting.
  • Safe and effective use of body mechanics while working with clients.
  • Ability to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight-bearing capabilities.
