Job Summary

Shared Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team in Winnipeg. As a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality cardiac ultrasound images and related structures for cardiologists to interpret. This is a full-time position with a 0.50 FTE, and the successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment with a team of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Obtain high-quality cardiac ultrasound images and related structures for cardiologists to interpret
- Assist in the education of new staff, students, patients, and visitors
- Participate in research endeavors within the department

Requirements

- One (1) year recent experience as a diagnostic cardiac sonographer preferred
- Previous experience using healthcare information systems is preferred
- Experience with analysis software for cardiovascular imaging is an asset

Education and Certification

- Complete High School education, Manitoba standards, required
- Successful completion of a CMA accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program

Skills and Qualifications

- Ability to apply independent judgment and clinical interpretive knowledge
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications and proficiency in related software applications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Physical Requirements

- Must be in good physical and mental health and be able to stand or walk for extended periods without resting
- May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood, and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical, and emotional stress
