Job Summary:
Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of standardized and complex sonography services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing patients for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, and obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality.
- Assisting with diagnosis, clinical intervention, and patient management to ensure a high level of patient care.
- Assisting in the education of new staff, students, and residents, quality assurance, and research endeavors within the department.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program in Diagnostic Ultrasound.
- Eligible for registration with Sonography Canada CRGS (Canadian Registered General Sonographer) credential and must become a registered member within three months of hire.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous related experience.
- Competence in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
- Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
- May be required to occasionally work extended hours.
