Project Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of our team, you will provide financial support to managers and contribute to the success of our projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate financial recording and monitoring of project portfolios.
  • Collaborate with the billing specialist to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Contribute to the improvement of Days of Sales Outstanding (DSO) by working with stakeholders.
  • Validate financial controls to minimize errors and maximize efficiency.
  • Meet with Project Managers to discuss project finances and provide guidance.
  • Review contracts to ensure accuracy of revenue recognition.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Keep project information up to date, including budgets, amendments, and rates.
  • Ensure compliance with CIMA+ internal control rules.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma in accounting or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in a professional services organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities simultaneously.
  • Autonomy, flexibility, agility, good communication skills, and analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
