At WR Transformateurs inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Transformer Design Specialist to join our team in Saint-Alphonse de Granby, Quebec. This is a rare opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of dry-type electrical transformers, where creativity, innovation, and collaboration thrive.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical engineering, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in transformer design. You will be responsible for creating various diagrams for transformer design, preparing cost estimates based on specifications, and acting as a resource person for new product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical transformer diagrams using industry-standard software.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for transformer production, taking into account raw materials, labor, and other expenses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new transformer designs, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and innovation.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to identify potential system failures and implement corrective measures to prevent downtime.
  • Communicate design specifications and requirements to 3D designers and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve existing transformer designs, ensuring they remain competitive in the market.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in transformer design and development.
  • Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks software is an asset.
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec is an asset.
