About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapy Assistant to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working closely with our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to develop and implement individualized therapy plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and administer individual and group physical therapy sessions, including exercises and activities designed to improve mobility and function.
  • Assist residents with therapeutic interventions, such as range of motion, progressive resistive exercises, and stretching, under the direction of the Physiotherapist.
  • Document resident progress and respond to changes in their condition, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Physiotherapist and other healthcare team members.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and assist with department audits, cleaning, and inspections.
About You

We are looking for a motivated and caring individual with a strong passion for delivering exceptional resident care. To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Physiotherapy Assistant Diploma from an approved college or a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology.
  • Previous experience working in a long-term care environment, preferably in a therapy or rehabilitation setting.
  • Knowledge of basic resident care practices and principles, including dementia care and U-first training.
