Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in heavy equipment operation? The Dirt Merchant Ltd. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team.

About the Role:

We are offering a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, to operate a variety of heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, and graders.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
  • Complete onboard and other logs
  • Secure special attachments to equipment
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
  • Train or assist in the training of other workers
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment
  • Service equipment

Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of experience operating heavy equipment
  • Valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and WHMIS Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate and Ground Disturbance - Level II program
  • Experience with Caterpillar (CAT) controls and John Deere controls
