**Job Summary**

Aspire Bakeries is a leading North American baking company with a strong presence in the specialty frozen baked goods market. Our innovative food portfolio includes a wide range of products such as breads, artisan breads, buns, cookies, donuts, muffins, and pastries from beloved brands like La Brea Bakery, Otis Spunkmeyer, and Oakrun Farm Bakery.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Develop and implement effective Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Lead the effort to create a strong safety culture and reduce injuries and damages/loss to property across both Canada and USA bakeries.
  • Partner with Bakery Leadership to drive positive cultural changes and achieve EHS regulatory compliance, organizational goals/values, and continuous improvements.
  • Champion safety culture with a zero-accident mentality and develop a strong relationship with employees to facilitate employee-led behavior-based safety processes.
  • Conduct regular environmental and safety audits, identify and evaluate hazards in the workplace, and recommend solutions to minimize or eliminate risk.
  • Manage and maintain existing Environmental Compliance programs (PSM, SWPPP, Air, Water, Waste, etc.) and research federal, state, and local regulations to define existing and upcoming legal obligations and requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety and environmental compliance and support all accident and near-miss investigations to uncover root cause and track completion of corrective actions.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance results and help manage workers' compensation cases with Bakery leadership.
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time to visit and support bakeries in both Canada and USA.

**Requirements**

  • Minimum of 7 years comprehensive environmental and safety experience with an extensive background in manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulations.
  • Experience supporting facilities in both Canada and USA is a plus.
  • M.S. in Occupational Safety or related discipline is good to have.
  • Certifications (ASP, CSP, or Canada Equivalent) also a plus.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a warehouse and walk-in freezer environment where temperatures can vary from extreme cold to very warm.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.
