As a key member of the Aspire Bakeries team, the Senior Manager, EHSS Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the company's environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS policies, procedures, and programs that promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs that meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with bakery leadership to drive a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders to stay informed about emerging EHS trends and requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Investigate and report on EHS incidents and near misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Manage EHS budgets and resources to ensure effective implementation of EHS programs.
  • Develop and maintain EHS metrics and reporting to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental science, safety, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to visit and support bakeries in both Canada and the USA.

  • The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to traffic hazards, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a warehouse and walk-in freezer environment where temperatures can vary from extreme cold to very warm.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.
