Job Title: Field Service Technician

ANDRITZ is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, startup, and maintenance of ANDRITZ supplied equipment for dewatering applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical and electrical checkout of ANDRITZ supplied equipment
  • Plan and book service calls within Canada
  • Supervise bargaining unit employees when used to assist with field service
  • Supervise and instruct contractors and customers on rebuilds and maintenance of ANDRITZ equipment
  • Provide telephone sales and support to customers when not engaged in field service activities
  • Verify proper installation of ANDRITZ supplied equipment
  • Service ANDRITZ equipment
  • Write detailed reports outlining situations occurring at the job site
  • Optimize process performance prior to testing
  • Demonstrate performance based on customer specifications
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical and pneumatic controls and problem resolution at site
  • Modify PLC programming at site to meet customer requirements
  • Promote ANDRITZ's goals through development of good customer relationships and recognized professionalism
  • Stay current on all OH&S training and wear appropriate PPE as required
Requirements:
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Journeyman Millwright preferred
  • Process knowledge of ANDRITZ manufactured equipment
  • Experience reading basic engineering drawings
  • Computer skills: Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel)
  • Electrical instrumentation and working knowledge of PLC programming with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, and GE
  • Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to walk, sit, or stand for long periods
  • Physically able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and maintain balance on catwalks and platforms
  • Make visual inspections with precise hand and finger movements
Relationships:
  • Interfaces with clients, service manager, service center manager, service center shop supervisor, engineering, and ANDRITZ representatives
