About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced cook to join our team at Fancy Fork Café & Bistro. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as training staff in food preparation and handling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques, ensuring a high level of competence and consistency.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Organize buffets and banquets, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and a high level of physical stamina.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
