About the Role

This is a senior leadership position within the Government of Canada - Western, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement organizational policies and programs, allocating resources to achieve strategic objectives
  • Establish and manage major departments and senior staff positions, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration
  • Coordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
  • Formulate and approve financial and administrative controls, promotional campaigns, and human resources planning
  • Establish organizational objectives and develop policies and programs to achieve them
  • Represent the organization in negotiations and official functions, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Select and develop middle managers, directors, and executive staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success

Leadership and Supervision

  • Lead a team of more than 20 people, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their growth and success

Requirements

  • 5 years or more of experience in a senior leadership role, with a proven track record of strategic leadership and management
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a strong focus on results and delivery
