Millwright and Maintenance Specialist

Blackstone Industrial Services is seeking a skilled Millwright and Maintenance Specialist to join our team for a 2-3 month period. As a Millwright with Blackstone, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your skills and expertise will be valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery for repair or maintenance, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to prevent equipment failures and reduce downtime.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed, including documentation of work completed and materials used.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to company safety standards and protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with the Field Services team to ensure seamless execution of maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics to determine work procedures and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Experience with equipment overhauls and maintenance, with a focus on compressors, gearboxes, pumps, fans, and blowers.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including bearings, gears, and shafts.
  • Strong Hoisting & Rigging skills, with the ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including laser alignment tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals, with a focus on interpreting technical information and applying it to real-world scenarios.
  • Troubleshooting failures and malfunctioning equipment, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Perform predictive and operational procedures to prevent equipment failures and reduce downtime.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision, with a focus on maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
  • Safety-conscious mindset, with a focus on adhering to company safety standards and protocols.
  • Be motivated, well-organized, punctual, honest, and willing to learn, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with a focus on working collaboratively with the Field Services team.
  • Be flexible with time scheduling to meet customer needs, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Comply with all company policies, company safety, quality, and performance standards.
Education and Certifications
  • Completion of a recognized Millwright apprenticeship program.
  • Successful completion of our pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license.
  • H2S, Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and CSO safety tickets.
  • O/H Crane, Rigging Safety, Fork Lift, Zoom Boom, First Aid, and SCBA courses are not mandatory but are assets.
