As an Accounting Coordinator at McDougall Energy, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and accurate individual to join our team for an 18-month fixed term contract.

  • Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Prepare year-end external audit working papers, lead sheets, and reconciliations.
  • Process daily activities in inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve process inefficiencies, driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and standardize processes across all entities.
  • Maintain creation and ongoing maintenance of SOPs required for new ERP system/other processes.
  • Serve as a knowledge resource and educate others in data collection processes within feeder systems.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage a high volume of data; with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organization skills; ability to effectively prioritize and committed to deadlines
  • Strong proficiency working with Microsoft Office; specifically in Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and accounting standards, especially Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience working with a large ERP system an asset
