Youth Health Services Nurse Practitioner Role

Salary: CAD $77,690 - CAD $88,454 per year
Job Description
This role involves working alongside allied staff on multiple youth teams and would include outreaching to clients, attending team meetings and consultation with allied staff. The position will also see youth clients at Robert Lily Lee for a variety of reasons including OAT, primary care, engagement and referral to services. Finally this position will serve contracted youth sites in the community including Peak House treatment center, Youth Haven, Directions youth drop in and BYRC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive assessment of patients and clients including diagnosing diseases, disorders and conditions.
- Initiate treatment including health care management, therapeutic interventions and prescribe medications in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards, limits and conditions, and employer policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with clients and other health professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for clients, families and communities.
- Develop and implement population and evidence-based strategies to improve health and participate in policy-making and quality improvement activities that influence health services and practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) plus 4 years of recent, and relevant clinical nursing experience.
- Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
