Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is CAD $76,500 - $83,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Vancouver Acute Home Based Treatment (AHBT) Team. This team provides short-term, in-home mental health and substance use care for clients ages 17 and up who could benefit from a community-based alternative to acute hospitalization.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate treatment, including healthcare management, therapeutic interventions, and prescribing medications in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards.
  • Provide professional guidance to other healthcare professionals and participate autonomously as a member of interdisciplinary health teams.
  • Collaborate with clients and other health professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for clients, families, and communities.
  • Develop and implement population and evidence-based strategies to improve health and participate in policy-making and quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in peer, program, and self-review to evaluate the outcome of services at the client, community, and population level.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Four (4) years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of developmental stages, behavioral sciences, pathophysiology, psychopathology, epidemiology, and evidence-based practice to clinical diagnosis and patient management.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and prognosis.
  • Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices.
