Job SummaryWe are looking for a talented Baker - Pastry Chef to prepare and bake a variety of sweet and savory goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating delicious treats.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Baking: Prepare and bake a variety of sweet and savory goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies, according to recipes and special customer orders.
- Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked bakery.
- Staff Training and Supervision: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure high-quality products.
- Quality Control: Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
- Customer Service: Prepare special orders and ensure that customers with food allergies or intolerances receive suitable products.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Will train.
- Work Setting: Bake shop.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, dependability, judgement, reliability, and team player.
