The Opportunity:

The Production Supervisor plays a pivotal role in our manufacturing facilities, overseeing the afternoon shift with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. As a leader, you will inspire your team to deliver exceptional results, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Your expertise in Good Manufacturing Practices and ability to problem-solve will be invaluable in driving results and promoting a safe working environment.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Responsible for maintaining product quality, assigning tasks, establishing priorities, and resolving issues
  • Supervision of production employees, achievement of production objectives, verification and implementation of manufacturing procedures, and oversight of shipping and receiving
  • Takes initiative and exercises timely and good judgment in day-to-day business decisions
  • Maintains a safe working environment by educating and directing employees on equipment and resource usage, ensuring compliance with OHSA, JHSC recommendations, and MOL work orders
  • Reduces and eliminates workplace accidents, assists in conducting investigations, and takes an active role in WSIB case management
  • Develops, directs, manages, trains, and motivates employees by communicating job expectations, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining in a timely manner
  • Administers company policies and procedures
  • Recognizes, supports, and commits to the Food Safety promise and facility Mission statement

What You'll Bring:

  • Secondary school education
  • Previous production experience
  • Proven initiative and leadership skills
  • Continuous learner and willingness to adapt to change while driving results
  • Experience and commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Good verbal communication skills in a multi-cultural environment and ability to address front-line employee relations issues
  • Good written communication skills with ability to formulate emails to cross-functional and interdepartmental teams
  • Good math skills as it pertains to daily production counts
  • Ability to problem-solve while maintaining a willingness to take calculated risks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to successfully use MS Office and other computer software application programs necessary for Maple Leaf Operations
