Job Description

We are currently seeking a Registered Kinesiologist to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

The ideal candidate will provide customized exercise prescription guidance and physical activity recommendations based on resident-centered goals through one-on-one consultation. This role requires the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and develop individualized plans for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prioritize referrals to ensure residents meet the criteria for treatment and services.
  • Document general fitness, functional assessments, and cognitive and/or exercise program progress notes for residents.
  • Facilitate education sessions on lift & transfer, body mechanics, and active living.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists to identify and refer complex cases for intake, assessment, intervention, and consultation.
  • Develop and facilitate cognitive and/or exercise programs, conducting pre and post-program functional and performance assessments.
  • Engage residents in their rehabilitation by collaborating with them to identify priorities, short-term, and long-term goals.
  • Participate in clinical huddles to identify and refer to appropriate clinical services and communicate client goals and plan of care within an inter-professional team.
  • Maintain professional obligations and requirements as set out by the College of Kinesiologists.
  • Prepare quarterly reports and monitor daily statistical data to ensure timely reporting to the Ministry of Health.

Requirements:

  • Registered Kinesiologist (Recognized member with the Ontario Kinesiology Association) and in good standing.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills with elderly individuals, physiotherapists/healthcare professionals, and teammates.
  • Experience working in Long Term Care or Retirement homes is an asset.
  • Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
  • Valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.

Arvan Rehab Group offers competitive compensation for this position, with an estimated annual salary range of $$83,500 - $113,600, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We appreciate all applications; however, only qualified applicants will be contacted.
