At the University of Toronto, we are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Academic Chair in Health Equity Research. This is a five-year appointment with the possibility of renewal, contingent on funding availability.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead a world-class program of impactful research focused on eliminating anti-Black racism and reducing health inequities. As the Chair holder, you will have the opportunity to develop and sustain a cutting-edge research program that addresses the social determinants of health and promotes health equity. Your expertise will be invaluable in shaping our institution's approach to addressing health disparities and improving the lives of marginalized communities.

We are looking for a candidate who has a proven track record of scientific productivity, including a strong publication record and impactful knowledge translation activities. You should also have experience in supervising and mentoring graduate students, post-doc fellows, and other trainees.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges facing Black, Indigenous, and racialized Canadians. They will have demonstrated experience in designing and evaluating interventions to address anti-Black racism, taking into account the social determinants of health at multiple levels.

The successful candidate will receive $200,000 per year for five years, which will be used to offset their salary support. Any remaining funds can be utilized to support academic activities, such as research operations and education events.
