About the Job

The Leadership Management Trainee Operations (LMT-O) Program is a comprehensive six-month training program designed to equip you with the necessary skills to excel as an Assistant Trainmaster. Successful completion of this program requires relocation to a terminal within the CPKC network and commitment to future relocations.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Trainmaster, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating processes related to arrival, classification, building, inspecting, and dispatching of trains.
  • Supporting the Trainmaster in efficient movement of traffic within the road territory and yard-terminal.
  • Ensuring safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics.
  • Providing leadership to build a strong safety culture and coaching operational standards.
Requirements and Qualifications

This role requires:

  • High school/general equivalency diploma is required, post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Ability to speak up and hold people accountable to CPKC core safety principles.
  • Effective time management skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing task priorities and work situations.
