Orthotist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Orthotist to join our multi-disciplinary team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will provide a diverse range of clinical interventions to a pediatric and adult population, utilizing your expertise in decision-making, creativity, and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will have a high degree of autonomy and will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to solve challenging clinical issues. You will also have the opportunity to support the development of students and colleagues through acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership in complex cases
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide education and training to students and colleagues
- Attend clinics, rounds, conferences, and meetings as required
Requirements:
- Must hold title of Certified Orthotist from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
- 1-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a hospital setting
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work independently
- Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to critically analyze assessment data and identify treatment needs
- Understanding of Privacy legislation and commitment to the protection of personal health information
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
What We Offer:
- Competitive hourly rate: $40.15 - $44.23
- Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
