We are seeking a Technical Solutions Specialist to join our team at Intertape Polymer Group (IPG), a global leader in packaging and protective solutions.

Estimated Salary: $42,500 - $52,000 per year

About the Role

This is a full-time position responsible for providing technical support to national accounts, distributors, and end-users. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze customer situations and provide technical sales support and guidance to ensure effective technical solutions are developed that meet client requirements.

  • This role requires knowledge of IPG products, features, functionalities, capabilities, and distribution channels, as well as the ability to effectively communicate the IPG value to customers.
  • The successful candidate will train customers on start-up, operation, and maintenance of various pieces of packaging equipment, including WAT dispensers, product protection systems, case sealers, case erectors, and more.
  • On-site installations, repairs, maintenance, service tasks, and product demonstrations will also be part of this role, as well as maintaining relationships with back-of-house contacts and gathering feedback.
  • This position will assist in developing, defining, and documenting technical sales best practices, including RFQ/RFP analysis, technical audits, quarterly reviews, time studies, annualized cost-saving programs, corporate reporting, and end-user training programs.
  • The Technical Solutions Specialist will partner with sales to identify complex opportunities and appropriate solutions for new and existing clients that match their long- and short-term needs and goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in client meetings regarding implementation and execution, best practices, products, and features.
  • Handle technical support calls via phone, email, and website.
  • Follow established communication procedures, including issuing RMA's, preparing and submitting work orders, expense reports, trip reports, and more.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Mechanical knowledge, preferably 1 year or more.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to present technical concepts to non-technical people.
  • Ability to understand technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Good customer service and organizational skills.
