Job Summary

ShiftKey is a non-profit organization based in the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University, responsible for extensive extra-curricular programming for Computer Science students. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the design, development, execution, and evaluation of all ShiftKey Academy programming and events, including extra-curricular programming focused on skill development through certifications, workshops, and courses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the ShiftKey Manager and partners to develop a robust program portfolio, including the development of new programs and activities.
  • Identify new partners or opportunities to enhance ShiftKey's capabilities in expanding our programming.
  • Manage various projects, including the planning, organization, and execution of Academy events and programs.
  • Represent ShiftKey at relationship-building events, such as networking events, conferences, and student engagement activities.
  • Coordinate communications and marketing for ShiftKey programs.
  • Support the ShiftKey Manager in administrative tasks, such as program budgeting, data collection, and management.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with approximately two years' experience in a coordinator role or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A high degree of organizational skill, interpersonal acumen, and problem-solving ability is required to provide oversight in balancing the many responsibilities related to this role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an enthusiasm for working with students.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and be proactive.

Assets

  • Demonstrated event planning and marketing experience.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working in the tech industry of Nova Scotia in a technical or project management role.
  • A proven interest and understanding of trends and needs in computer science.
