Division Head of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology

The Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the Division of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH). As a key member of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and direction to the division, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and molecular pathology services.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diagnostic and molecular pathology, with a proven track record of leadership and management experience. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve service quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes, while working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

The successful candidate will be a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and hold a MD degree, with licensure or eligibility for licensure in the province of Ontario. They will be fluent in both English and French, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Division Head of Diagnostic and Molecular Pathology will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and direction to the division, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and molecular pathology services
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve service quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives
  • Managing and supervising staff, including laboratory technical, administrative, and medical/scientific staff
  • Participating in TOH Anatomical Pathology service and call
  • Contributing to the academic mission of TOH and University of Ottawa
