Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Meat Department Manager to join our team at Thrifty Foods. As a key member of our Meat Department, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of daily operations, providing outstanding customer service, and coaching staff to deliver superior cuts of meat.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the Meat Department, including inventory management, ordering, and stock control.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Coach and train staff to provide superior cuts of meat, ensuring high-quality products are presented to customers.
- Collaborate with the Meat Department Manager to develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and visual merchandising plans.
- Monitor and maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a meat retail environment, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation, policies, and practices.
- Post-secondary certification in a related field, such as food safety or business administration, is an asset.
