Job Summary

As a Train Conductor with CP, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains. This includes working in train or yard service, following specific instructions, and coordinating the switching of cars.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in train or yard service, following seniority
  • Carry out instructions detailing train routes and movements
  • Coordinate car switching, including coupling and uncoupling
  • Observe and relay signals and indications affecting train movement
  • Signal crew members for engine or train movement
  • Maintain knowledge of General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR) and follow procedures
  • Provide flag protection and relay signals in emergency situations
  • Move on and off equipment
  • Fill out forms and prepare reports
  • Handle emergency situations and operate fire extinguishers
