The Medical Device Reprocessing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the timely processing of equipment and supplies necessary to support the operation of internal departments. This role involves supervising and developing human resources, developing and maintaining inter-department linkages, and performing administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the timely processing of equipment and supplies to support internal departments.
- Develop and maintain inter-department linkages to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Supervise and develop human resources to ensure a motivated and cohesive team.
- Perform administrative responsibilities, including quality assurance and quality control.
- Develop and implement educational strategies to enhance staff knowledge on processing practices and service delivery.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Function as a resource for staff, providing continuous education and training to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and established procedures.
- Allocate staff resources efficiently to ensure adequate shift coverage.
- Monitor quality standards and perform quality checks, taking corrective action as required.
- Sterile Supply Processing Certificate from a recognized community college or university.
- Five (5) years of recent working experience in a MDR department.
- Two (2) years Medical Device Reprocessing Supervisory experience, preferred.
- Good working knowledge of instrument tracking systems and operating room instrumentation.
- Demonstrated understanding of current legislation, regulations, and procedures for sterilizing of hospital equipment and related infection control issues.
- Well-developed team-building, conflict management, and consensus-building skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and to motivate others.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus and ability to work effectively in a diverse/corporate environment.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
- Strong Computer skills in a Windows environment utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook at an advanced level in addition to financial reporting.
- Demonstrates Mackenzie Health's Core Competencies including great customer service, effective communication, lifelong learning, taking initiative, and being a team player.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
