Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at West Edmonton Kidney Care. As a Shared Care Hemodialysis Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in teaching patients with chronic renal failure how to perform their hemodialysis treatments within the supportive environment of the community dialysis unit setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to promote, maintain, or restore health, prevent illness, injury, and disability to renal patients.
  • Teach patients in all aspects of their hemodialysis treatment, utilizing a strong hemodialysis knowledge base.
  • Practice nursing care according to AKC-N Practice Direction Documents, regulating body, clinical policies, and nursing practice standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and integrated patient care.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience in adult education and learning, and teaching patients within a clinical setting.
