Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Role

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides mental health care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. They work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health issues and treatment options.
  • Document patient care and progress accurately.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health; board certification as a PMHNP required.
  • Valid nursing license and prescriptive authority.
  • Strong clinical skills and patient-centered focus.
