Transformative Opportunity

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a key member of the multi-disciplinary team at the Women's Emergency Accommodation Centre (WEAC), providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and care management to clients. As a trusted member of the WEAC community, the NP performs advanced decision-making skills, orders and interprets tests, and prescribes medications. The successful candidate will provide leadership for health support at WEAC and participate in program development and clinical teaching activities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop client-centered care plans.
  • Engage participants in risk factor and health problem identification, goal setting, and intervention planning.
  • Order and interpret screening, diagnostic, and laboratory tests.
  • Keep accurate records of client visits through timely documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of learning resources and health education activities.

Qualifications

  • Master of Nursing degree or equivalent.
  • Active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Family/All Ages Stream.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
