The Ottawa Department of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Epilepsy Specialist Physician to join its team. The successful candidate will work in both outpatient and inpatient environments, providing expert care to patients with epilepsy.
SalaryThe estimated annual salary for this position is $250,000 - $350,000, depending on experience. In addition to clinical billings, the income for this position is also derived from salary support and honorariums/stipends.
Job DescriptionAs an Epilepsy Specialist Physician, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing epilepsy patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This will include interpreting diagnostic standard, ambulatory, ICU and continuous video-EEG monitoring (EMU), performing epilepsy pre-surgical evaluations, and participating in outpatient general neurology clinics and on the neurology inpatient and consultation services.
You will also be expected to educate clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy fellows, precept medical students and neurology residents, and actively participate in epilepsy research activities.
The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, be a member of, or be eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association, and have experience teaching medical students and residents.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Fellowship trained in epilepsy/EEG with experience in epilepsy monitoring (EMU, cEEG, Ambulatory EEG)
- Added subspecialty certification in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology
- A track record of peer-reviewed publications and post-fellowship clinical experience in epilepsy monitoring
