Our team consists of 10 full-time academic Geriatricians who manage a wide spectrum of services for older people within the region.
About UsThe Ottawa Hospital is a leading tertiary-care hospital serving Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. We have four inpatient sites and one ambulatory centre, with approximately 50,000 inpatient admissions, emergency visits, and over one million outpatient visits annually.
The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) is our research arm and ranks fourth out of more than Canadian hospitals for competitive, peer-reviewed grants from the prestigious Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
Your Responsibilities- Perform clinical services, including acute care inpatient Geriatric Medicine Unit, consultation teams at two campuses, and specialized ambulatory clinics.
- Teach and supervise medical students and residents.
- Participate in medical research, including clinical activities such as dementia & driving, frailty and pre-op assessment, delirium management, mobility, optimal prescribing, health services delivery, and medical education.
- Be a specialist in Geriatric Medicine.
- Be eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in Ontario.
- Be a member of, or be eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
- Have, or be eligible for certification in Geriatric Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
The estimated salary range for this position is between $250,000 - $400,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will receive health and welfare benefits, including extended health, dental, and disability insurance, as well as life insurance.
