Cedar Heights Residential Living is a dynamic organization dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with complex needs. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Overnight Support Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

The Overnight Support Specialist will provide on-site, client-centered programming, assisting residents in participating in life skills training, personal and self-help training, arts and crafts, recreation and leisure, and educational programs. This role requires creating and implementing therapeutic programming with an emphasis on life skills and personal development, as well as client advocacy within and outside the agency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hygiene support and daily living support for all residents
  • Assist residents in participating in life skills training, personal and self-help training, arts and crafts, recreation and leisure, and educational programs
  • Create and implement therapeutic programming with an emphasis on life skills and personal development
  • Provide client advocacy within and outside the agency
  • Participate in on-site training and workshops
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (completed or in progress)
  • Obtain a Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector (current within 6 months)
  • Complete an Employee Medical Test with Hep B, and 2-part TB test
  • Provide proof of Immunization record
  • Consent to CAS SAFE records check
  • Possess $1,000,000 Liability Automobile Insurance
  • Possess Valid G Driver's License
  • Have access to a vehicle at work
  • Experience is encouraged but not required if related education is complete
  • Possess First Aid/ CPR- Level C
Preferred Qualifications
  • DSW, CYW, SSW, with experience in the field
  • Experience working with children and/or youth with disabilities
  • Experience with individualized plans
  • Experience with Life/social skills programming
  • Experience with implementing behavioural interventions and programming
  • Experience in Trauma Informed Care
  • Experience managing and responding to crisis situations
  • Experience in medication administration
  • Cooking and cleaning skills
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to set priorities to manage time within deadlines
  • Ability to follow direction and work as a member of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
