Job Summary

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to provide administrative support to the school. This is a 28-hour per week position that requires strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work as a team member.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the school administration, teaching staff, students, and guardians
  • Assist with reception, attendance, and guidance duties
  • Manage schedules, calendars, and other administrative tasks
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents
  • Perform other administrative duties as required
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Strong organizational and secretarial skills
  • MS Word skills at the Intermediate level
  • Advanced word-processing skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Proficient in PowerSchool and the reports generated within
  • Basic knowledge of Google Drive and associated applications (docs, sheets, slides)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of JDE, EasyConnect, and secondary school attendance procedures
  • Experience with MS Publisher and Advanced Excel
  • Secondary office experience and Basic First Aid
