Job Title: Program Implementation Specialist

About the Role:
BCIT is seeking a skilled Program Implementation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Accessibility Services department, you will play a critical role in developing and integrating innovative academic communication equity and accessibility in post-secondary programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the ACE-BC Program team to research, develop, and integrate best practices in accessibility and communication equity.
  • Identify and integrate innovative academic communication equity and accessibility solutions in post-secondary programs.
  • Create impactful educational resources tailored for students who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or DeafBlind, as well as for instructors, student services, and accessibility professionals.
  • Foster an inclusive, diverse, and supportive learning environment by advancing educational and service provider excellence.
  • Deliver student-centered, evidence-based products and services in alignment with our commitment to service provider excellence, systems changes, community mobilization, and transition services.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Disability or Deaf studies, Deaf Education, linguistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of recent, hands-on experience in DHHDB accessibility in post-secondary instruction or K-12, interpreter development and practices, educational and assistive technology, and program evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of best practices in accessibility and accommodations implementation for individuals who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or hard of hearing.
  • Strong technical writing skills and excellent project management skills.
