The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Court Action Planning Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our YCAPP team, you will work closely with young people and their families to develop action plans that support their immediate and medium-term goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the YCAPP staff, placement students, and volunteers in working with young people to develop action plans
  • Case coordination of referred youth
  • Provide coverage at various sites as needed
  • Develop and strengthen community partnerships and referral sources
  • Represent the YCAP program and organization at network tables, community groups, conferences, etc.
Requirements
  • Minimum diploma in Social Work, Child & Youth Work, or related field and a minimum 2 years related experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience working within the youth justice system
  • Strong understanding of community organizations and supports available to young people
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize shifting responsibilities and work collaboratively within and across teams
Assets
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and institutional policies
  • Knowledge of social service agencies operating in Toronto and a willingness to broaden knowledge with respect to clients coming from outside of our geographic location
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
