A Day in Your Life at Strum Consulting
  • You will alternate between office and fieldwork, conducting boundary, subdivision, and topographic surveys.
  • In the field, you will participate in construction layout and quality control, as well as prepare detailed survey approaches and calculations for assigned projects.
  • Your responsibilities will also include identifying and undertaking required surveying research, translating and processing field data, completing detailed drawings, reviewing milestones, and finalizing drawings.
  • Additionally, you will coordinate AutoCAD drawing preparation, attend meetings with contractors, regulatory agencies, and clients, and utilize software tools such as AutoCAD daily.
What You Bring to Strum Consulting
  • You hold a degree in Surveying/Geomatics or a diploma and CBEPS certificate.
  • You possess 2 years of relevant land surveying experience, although recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • You are registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Nova Scotia Land Surveyor and/or Candidate.
  • You have knowledge of the statutes, regulations, and practices of the Nova Scotia Land Surveyors Act, Municipal Government Act, Land Titles Act, Public Lands Act, and Surveys Act.
  • You demonstrate attention to detail and proficiency in using software tools, strong organizational, communication, documentation, and technical skills.
  • You are able to adapt to changing environments, comfortable meeting with clients, and exhibit strong professionalism when interacting with coworkers, clients, and landowners.
  • You have strong computer operating skills, including MS Office, and demonstrated accuracy, neatness, and professionalism in completing survey projects and plan preparation.
