We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Carewest Innovative Healthcare. As a key member of our interprofessional healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to our clients, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.

Job Summary:

The Healthcare Assistant will work under the supervision of the Client Service Manager to provide client care, observe and report on client status, and ensure that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide client care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Observe and report on client status, including changes in physical and emotional status
  • Deliver prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure
  • Work collaboratively with the interprofessional healthcare team to promote client-centered care
  • Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
  • Graduation from Grade 12 is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required
  • Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients
  • Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory is required
  • Related experience in a healthcare facility is an asset
