The Department of Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a distinguished physician to lead its Division of Infectious Diseases. As the Head of this esteemed division, you will be responsible for driving clinical and academic excellence while fostering a collaborative environment among the team.

Role Overview

This leadership role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the department's mission by providing visionary leadership, strategic planning, and operational management of the Division of Infectious Diseases. You will work closely with the administrative lead to ensure alignment with the hospital's vision, mission, and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic and clinical leadership to the Division of Infectious Diseases
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive clinical and academic excellence
  • Collaborate with the administrative lead to manage divisional operations, budget, capital, and service planning
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the division
About the Position

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of academic and clinical leadership, as well as excellent organizational skills. A commitment to building on the current academic successes, including post-graduate education, is essential. Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association is also required.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $425,000 - $625,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health, dental, and disability insurance, as well as life insurance, the university also provides a thriving multicultural and bilingual environment.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in academic and clinical leadership
  • Associate or Full Professor rank at the University of Ottawa
  • Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a culture of excellence and collaboration
