The successful applicant will work with a group of 42 cardiologists and 3 other hospitalists at Canada's largest and foremost heart health centre, which employs over 1,400 physicians, nurses, researchers, technicians, allied health professionals, and more.

The Division of Cardiology is renowned for delivering outstanding cardiac care, excellence in education, and recognized internationally for its research in various fields including electrophysiology, cardiac imaging, STEMI/ACS coronary intervention, valvular disease, cardiac transplantation, and pulmonary hypertension programs.

As a Hospitalist Physician at UOHI, you will round on patients daily along with the attending cardiologist, provide orders and advice to nursing staff regarding ongoing care, and manage and coordinate care plans for patients with internal medicine conditions.

You will have the option to participate in quality improvement initiatives and other academic activities.

To be eligible, candidates must possess an MD degree from an accredited medical school, be committed to patient-centered care, and have very good interpersonal and clinical skills.

Candidates must also be eligible for an Ontario license, be a member of or be eligible for membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association, and ideally have experience teaching medical students and residents.

The University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital are bilingual institutions, and therefore, in the case of potentially successful candidates of equal ability, a bilingual (French/English) candidate would be preferred.

We offer competitive compensation packages, including an estimated annual salary range of $230,000-$260,000 based on the position's requirements and qualifications.
