Senior Downstream Process Development Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Downstream Process Development Scientist to join our team at AbCellera. As a key member of our process development group, you will be responsible for driving the development and optimization of clinical and commercial manufacturing processes for the purification of antibodies.
Key Responsibilities- Design, plan, and execute experiments to develop and optimize downstream processing operations, including high-throughput and bench-scale production.
- Establish and optimize protocols for antibody purification and downstream processing operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build optimal solutions for challenges in antibody purification and production.
- Benchmark specific technologies to bring them to the state of the art.
- Solve complex problems through analytical thinking and identify alternatives using knowledge gained through formal education, experience, and sound judgment.
- Liaise with CMC team members and other partners to communicate project updates and deliverables.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
- Organize, support, and collaborate with team members to meet project deliverables and timelines.
- A strong desire to support early antibody discovery work by developing ways to improve and speed up the discovery to CMC development to GMP manufacturing paradigm.
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience in downstream process development within a biotechnology or pharmaceutical organization.
- Experience with different purification techniques such as chromatography, normal flow filtration (NFF), tangential flow filtration (TFF), and the associated instrumentation such as AKTA chromatography systems and UNICORN software.
- Experience with bioanalytical assays associated with purification processes, such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, HPLC, etc.
- An outstanding communicator and teammate.
