Alexa Customer Experiences Team is Seeking a Skilled Language Data Scientist
We are dedicated to developing innovative Alexa experiences using Generative AI, focusing on areas like human evaluations, Responsible AI safeguards, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
As a Language Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Alexa by tackling emerging data and linguistic challenges. You'll collaborate closely with language data scientists, program managers, and stakeholders across science, engineering, and product teams to understand how data can be leveraged to create exceptional customer experiences.
Your Responsibilities:
- Dive deep into critical projects within Alexa experiences, analyzing and automating processes for collecting and annotating LLM inputs and outputs.
- Assess data quality and measurement, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our datasets.
- Apply state-of-the-art Generative AI techniques to analyze how well our data represents human language and conduct experiments to evaluate downstream interactions.
- Collaborate with other language data scientists and researchers to devise innovative strategies for data optimization.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in data querying, scripting, or statistical/mathematical software.
- PhD in Computational Linguistics, Linguistics, or a related field; or MA/MS with relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with extensive experience.
- Strong knowledge of semantics, pragmatics, conversation analysis, or discourse analysis.
- Experience in data collection project design, annotation workflow development, and data quality evaluation.
- Experience conducting psychology/linguistic/cognitive science surveys or experiments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with voice assistants.
- Working knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Expertise in synthetic dataset creation and surveying.
- Familiarity with a variety of languages or language varieties.
