We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Scientist to join our team at AbCellera, a leading biotechnology company. As an Associate Scientist, you will play a key role in driving the development and optimization of clinical and commercial manufacturing processes for the purification of antibodies.
Key Responsibilities- Design, plan, and execute experiments to develop and optimize antibody purification processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build optimal solutions for challenges in antibody purification and production
- Establish and optimize protocols for antibody purification and downstream processing operations
- Benchmark specific technologies to bring them to the state of the art
- Solve complex problems through analytical thinking and identify alternatives using knowledge gained through formal education, experience, and sound judgment
- Liaise with CMC team members and other partners to communicate project updates and deliverables
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures
- Organize, support, and collaborate with team members to meet project deliverables and timelines
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related field
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience in downstream process development within a biotechnology or pharmaceutical organization
- Experience with different purification techniques, such as chromatography, normal flow filtration, tangential flow filtration, and associated instrumentation
- Experience with bioanalytical assays associated with purification processes, such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, HPLC, etc.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Highly motivated and excited about the opportunity to work with an inspired team on challenging problems that matter
